SUPPORT/SETUP
The Purebred Party Animal
The mixed wheel Patrol has a new haircut but is still down for anything and truly unapologetic when it comes to shredding trail.
Being one of the longest standing bikes in our lineup, it was the obvious choice to mix it up. Updated geometry to accommodate the 29" front / 27.5" rear wheels and revised suspension tune might just make you ride all day, and then all night. Jibbing, jumping, pumping and hooting your way down the trail, the updated Patrol loves to party. From bike parks to your local trails, the Patrol isn't concerned with where you ride but rather how much fun you are having.

FRAME FEATURES

1. Lifetime Warranty
At Transition Bikes we take pride in the quality of our products and are stoked to offer a lifetime warranty for the original owner and our stellar crash replacement program. We got your back so you don't have to worry about your bike.

2. Frame Material
The Patrol carbon uses premium Japanese Toray fiber using a unique latex coated EPS molding process to create tighter edge radius control using less material. The Patrol alloy features a frame made from tough and dependable heat treated 6061 aluminum to strike the right balance of strength, durability and ride quality.

3. Pivot Technology
Collet main pivot technology improves rear end stiffness and keeps your pivot hardware tight. Additional bearing shields prevent main pivot bearing contamination when washing your bike or riding in wet conditions.

4. Frame Protection
We keep your bike rides quiet and your frame safe from damage with fully integrated, flush-mounted rubber frame protection at all critical areas. In addition to downtube and seatstay protection, the ribbed chainstay protector features expanded coverage of the rear dropout pivot area.

5. Geo Adjust Chip
Change the attitude of the bike with a simple flip of a chip. Our high and low settings give you two very usable geo settings to suite your riding style. Our high setting is comparable to most other companies low setting so there is a high shred warning in effect.

6. Size Specific Chainstays
The Patrol has two size specific chainstay lengths to provide balanced handling and rider weight distribution across the range of sizes.

7. Enduro Max Bearings
We exclusively use Enduro Max suspension pivot specific bearings in standard sizes that are readily available worldwide. Dual bearings are used at the dropout pivots for frame stiffness and additional c-clips lock the rocker bearings in place under torsional loads.

8. Gear Accessory Mount
Our underside top-tube accessory mount allows you to carry a spare tube or other goodies safely on your frame in case you are looking to ditch the backpack.

9. Dual Crown Fork Compatible
Both the carbon and alloy frame options are fully dual crown compatible for those wanting to dip their toes into the DH world.

10. Tire Clearance
Ample clearance for mud and tires up to 2.6" width.

11. User Friendly Cable Routing
To simplify maintenance and keep your bike noise free, the rear derailleur cable is routed through guide tubes in the front triangle and chainstay.

Feature available on carbon framesets only.

12. Press In Headset
Our ZS56/ZS56 press in headset gives you the freedom to use reach adjust and angle adjust headsets for maximum adjustability.

Adjustable headsets are not supplied with Patrol framesets or complete bikes.

13. Water Bottle Compatibility
We keep your water bottle clean inside the front triangle so you can keep hydrated without worrying about mud making it to your mouth.

14. Universal Derailleur Hanger
The Patrol features a SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger that protects your derailleur against chain jams by pivoting back and out of the way, and slips slightly when encountering impacts. It improves shifting performance, guarantees better alignment, works with all drivetrains and is available anywhere.

Speed Balanced Geometry

SBG ensures the bike maintains low speed agility, front wheel traction, and proper rider weight balance while actually increasing confidence in steep terrain and at high speeds. With SBG, a slacker head tube angle is combined with a reduced offset fork standard, preventing the front wheel from being too far in front of the rider. This improves front to rear weight distribution on the bike, which is often out of balance on long and slack bikes. One of SBG's greatest benefits is that it creates a confident steering feel that adapts to wheel speed. More stability when going fast, more agility on technical slow speed maneuvering as well as improved traction, control and confidence for any skill level of rider.

GIDDYUP
SUSPENSION
DESIGN

We want to make it as easy as possible to experience great rear suspension performance. The GiddyUp suspension system is designed to behave intuitively across a broad range of setup. Because, we get it, sometimes you just want to grab your bike and GiddyUp, without checking your setup. When you do, it will always feel good.

With nearly 24% progression and the most current evolution of our GiddyUp suspension kinematic, the Patrol has an excellent balance of support and small bump sensitivity. Anti-squat is tuned to enhance pedaling performance and provides a platform to push against when pumping, without sacrificing a bottomless feel when needed.

The GiddyUp suspension layout is tuned to work correctly with both air and coil rear shocks. Riders are able to add or remove volume spacers in the rear air shock to suit their individual riding style and there is plenty of bottom out control with air or coil shocks when things get rowdy. The Patrol has 160mm of rear wheel travel when used with the supplied 205mm x 60mm stroke shock. It is also possible to install a longer, 205mm x 65mm stroke shock to increase the rear wheel travel to 170mm if you are after a longer travel experience.

A suggested sag range of 27 - 33% allows the rider to tune the feel of the bike; from a firm and snappy jump and slash mode, to a more supple and active full on party mode. Wherever you end up, you can focus on the trail without remotes, levers or knobs. Just grab your bike and GiddyUp.

"I am extremely fond of this bike. It's worth reiterating that for a frame that only has a singular flip chip it actually offers nearly endless possibilities for how you could set it up, from a sprightly all rounder to a dual crown freeride rig with air or coil shocks, travel bumps and adjustable headsets all being options at your disposal. With that in mind, the stock setup at 160mm travel front and rear places it nicely between the Sentinel and the Spire as a playfully utilitarian rig that will leave a smile on your face for the overwhelming majority of aggressive mountain bike riding out there" - Ian Collins - MTB-MAG.com

"Considering the trails around Bellingham are fast, steep, and filled with tons of jumps, I wanted to grab the Patrol every day. Why? Well, it's a close contender for what I'd look for in a long travel enduro bike that doesn't get pigeonholed into any extreme characteristics. Suspension, geometry, and weight equate to a package that is happier to play versus race." - Matt Beer - Pinkbike Field Test

"There was something magical about taking the Patrol down steep terrain. It allowed me to just let go of the brakes and, immediately thereafter, let go of my worries. In the most crucial of situations, the Patrol's geometry, suspension and wheel size came together perfectly." - Betamtb.com

"Vital has loved prior iterations of the Patrol, bestowing multiple Shreddy awards. This new haircut brings the Patrol into a new era of mountain biking for today's heaviest-hitting and rowdy riders. Mountain bikers living in areas with demanding terrain and big sends should be jumping for joy, the new Patrol may represent the ultimate tool." - VitalMTB.com
