Women's Power Hour at AMBC's Fall Fest
December 09, 2024

The city of Knoxville, TN has exploded with interconnected trail systems throughout it's green spaces. With the help from the local trail chapter, Appalacian Mountain Bike Club (AMBC), they've created a progressive trail network as well as events to celebrate their bustling community. TR ambassador and owner of Blue Sky MTB, a mountain bike skills instruction company, Christsonthy Drellos, splits her time between Vermont and Knoxville spreading her love for two wheels. This year, along with the AMBC Fall Fest, she hosted an all women identifying event for ladies to have a blast pushing themselves in a comfortable space.

“The uniqueness of this event is that it's not every day you get a tow in behind a 6 year old shredder dressed like a flying unicorn, AND get to watch & ride along side some of the most advanced female shredders in their field!” - Christsonthy

Party trains of multiple generations and cheering one another on are just a few of the highlights from the Power Hour.

The 15th annual AMBC Fall Fest once again celebrated the best thing on earth…BIKES! Complete with epic dance parties, whip offs, and big air! And a major highlight for many of the female riders of all ages was the Blue Sky MTB Women’s Power Hour!

Over 50 women with different riding levels joined forces up on the top of the Baker Creek jump line in Knoxville, TN to session the jumps, build their skills and most of all have a rad time on bikes!

The best part of the Women’s Power Hour is the younger generation of girls seeing what’s possible as a mountain biker! The future is bright, and the lasting effects of the event helps to build an even more confident community of women riders who are not only honing their skills but also inspiring others to ride with confidence and strength!

If you're a mountain biker in the East looking to take it to the next level or find other like minded riders, check out Christonthy's website HERE and follow her Instagram HERE.
